Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies ClipHaus uses, what each one does, and how you can control cookies in your browser. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.

In short: in the current version of the platform we use essential cookies only. We do not use advertising cookies, marketing cookies, or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not let advertisers or analytics providers set cookies through the Service.

1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small piece of data that a website stores in your browser and reads back on later visits. Cookies can be session cookies, which are deleted when you close the browser, or persistent cookies, which stay for a set period. The platform also uses your browser’s local storage for one preference described in Section 2.3; local storage is not a cookie, but we describe it here because it serves the same purpose of remembering a choice on your device.

2. The cookies and storage we use

2.1 Session and authentication cookies

When you sign in, the platform and Supabase Auth, our authentication provider, set session cookies that identify your signed-in session. These cookies:

  • keep you signed in as you move between dashboard pages;
  • tell the platform which account, role, and organisation a request belongs to, so the role-based access rules in our Privacy Policy can be applied;
  • support secure sign-in, sign-out, and session refresh, and protect against requests being forged in your name; and
  • expire when the session ends, when you sign out, or after the session lifetime set by the authentication provider, after which you will be asked to sign in again.

These cookies are set by the platform, including cookies whose names begin with sb- that are issued for Supabase Auth sessions. They are first-party cookies for our domain and are not used to follow you to other websites.

2.2 Security and load cookies

Our network provider may set or read strictly necessary technical cookies and similar values to route traffic, keep the site available, and distinguish genuine visits from automated abuse. These are used for security and operation only, not for advertising or profiling.

2.3 Cookie-consent preference

When you use the Accept or Decline control in our cookie banner, we record your choice on your device in browser local storage under the key hs-cookie-consent (value 1 if you accept, 0 if you decline), so the banner does not reappear on every page. This is a preference record only: it carries no identifier, is not sent to advertisers, and is not used to track you across sites. You can clear it at any time by clearing site data for our domain in your browser, after which the banner will be shown again.

3. What we do not use

  • No advertising cookies and no cookies that build an advertising profile.
  • No cross-site tracking cookies, tracking pixels, or social media trackers on our pages.
  • No sale or sharing of cookie data with data brokers or advertisers.
  • No optional analytics cookies in the current version. If we add optional cookies later, we will update this policy, describe them here first, and only use them as described.

4. Accepting and declining

The cookie banner lets you record Accept or Decline. Because every cookie we currently use is essential to sign-in, security, or remembering that choice, declining does not switch cookies off: the essential cookies described above still apply, as explained in this policy, and the Service cannot offer a cookie-free version of the signed-in dashboard. Recording a Decline means we will not introduce optional cookies for you without updating this policy and asking again where the law requires it.

5. How to control cookies in your browser

Every modern browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies, and clear local storage. The controls are usually under the browser’s Settings, in a section labelled “Privacy and security”, “Site settings”, or “Cookies”. From there you can:

  • see which cookies and site data our domain has stored and delete them;
  • block all cookies, or block cookies for specific sites;
  • ask the browser to clear cookies and site data when you close it; and
  • use a private or incognito window, which discards session cookies when the window closes.

The exact steps differ between browsers and versions, so check your browser’s own help pages for the current instructions.

6. What happens if you disable essential cookies

Disabling essential cookies breaks sign-in. If session and authentication cookies are blocked or deleted, the platform cannot recognise your session: you will be signed out, dashboard pages will redirect you back to the sign-in page, and actions that need an authorised account, including submitting episodes, reviewing clips, and downloading delivered clips, will not work. The public pages of the site will still load. To use the dashboard, allow cookies for our domain and sign in again.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change the cookies we use, we will update this page and the date at the top of it before the new cookies are introduced, and we will notify active account holders of material changes.
